Change can be exhilarating and filled with blessings. It can also bring world-shattering devastation. Loss of homes, memories, security, identity.

When unexpected changes uproot us, we need safe spaces to find our footing. We need steadiness, kindness, and hope. Spaces both tangible and intangible from which to heal and to grow.

Supporting people through those transitions is the heart of Refuge Coffee.

Coffee is a mainstay of many problem-solving sessions around tables everywhere from breakfast nooks to boardrooms. We believe that coffee has the power to provide solutions beyond a momentary pick-me-up.

Why Refuge?

refuge/ˈrefyo͞oj/ - A refuge is a safe place, shelter, or protection from danger, trouble, or distress. It can refer to physical locations (like a storm shelter or wildlife park) or mental/emotional havens used to find comfort

We believe people deserve refuge in the midst of life’s most uncertain moments — We all have times in our lives when we need a safe place to weather the storm.

Refuge Coffee exists to help create those spaces.

Sometimes refuge is a warm cup and a conversation that reminds someone they are not alone. Sometimes it is a community program, a caregiver, a counselor, a community, or a safe place to rest.

Why Coffee?

Coffee has inspired social change for hundreds of years. Early coffee houses were socioeconomic equalizers and catalysts of social change. We believe coffee still has those powers.
